Investigation on mixed thermalelstohydrodynamic lubrication behavior of slipper/swash plate interface in water hydraulic axial piston pump

To reveal the thermal-fluid-structure interaction characteristics of water-lubricated slipper/swash plate interface, a transient mixed thermoelstohydrodynamic (MTEHD) lubrication model incorporating asperity contact, elastic deformation, heat transfer and viscosity temperature effect is originally presented. The change in fluid properties caused by cavitation is considered for solution the piston chamber pressure. Distributions of pressure, temperature, deformation and tilting state of slipper simulated by MTEHD show strong reasonableness. Effect of operating and structural parameters on energy consumption characteristics calculated by MTEHD and hydrodynamic lubrication is contrastively analyzed. The results show that energy consumption is different in delivery and suction stroke due to different degrees of MTEHD effects and transient contact. Besides, the optimal dimension for the width of studied sealing surface is determined.
