STLE invites corporate and individual sponsors to join in financially supporting the development of the tribology and lubrication engineering workforce through travel grants
PARK RIDGE, Illinois, USA (December 16, 2025) – The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) — the technical society for individuals in the field of tribology and lubrication engineering — announces a new initiative designed to support rising engineers, researchers and industry professionals in advancing the field without financial barriers. To help bridge the growing funding gap, STLE is investing $10,000 into the STLE NextGen Fund to launch a new travel grant program.
STLE now invites corporate partners and individuals to sustain and grow this program beyond the initial $10,000. Through the program, eligible attendees will receive individual grants of up to $1,000 to support their professional travel. Eligibility requirements and applications for STLE travel grants will be available on the STLE website starting in January 2026.
“STLE recognizes the importance of supporting our community and understands that financial assistance may be required for individuals to continue their professional development and conference attendance,” said Rebecca Lintow, CAE, STLE executive director. “We invite our corporate partners to support our mission as we expand access and provide opportunities for early career engineers, academic researchers and industry innovators to connect with their peers in the global tribology and lubrication community.”
Corporate Opportunities
STLE is actively seeking corporate partners to collaborate on expanding this initiative. Companies that provide five or more $1,000 travel grants will be recognized as key supporters of professional development and industry advancement.
