The 2027 Japan-America Frontiers of Engineering symposium will be hosted by the Toray Industries at their Toray Mishima Training Center in Mishima, Japan from June 14 - 17, 2027. Sixty highly accomplished early-career engineers from Japan and the United States will meet for an intensive 2-1/2 day symposium on developments at the cutting edge of engineering technology in four areas: AI for Process Scale-up, Optimization, and Manufacturing; Systems with Challenges for AI Integration; AI for Science and Education; and AI for Knowledge-Guided Discovery and Decision-Making. The event is intended to facilitate international and cross-disciplinary research collaboration, promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across disparate engineering fields, and encourage the creation of a transpacific network of world-class engineers. JAFOE is organized by the National Academy of Engineering and the Engineering Academy of Japan, and is hosted by Toray Industries in 2027. Support for JAFOE symposia is provided by The Grainger Foundation and the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
