Electrical signalling underpins how plants sense and respond to their environment, yet mapping these signals with high spatial and temporal resolution is generally complicated by unstable interfaces and poor electrode conformity on curved tissues. Now, writing in Nature Electronics, Xiaodong Chen and colleagues introduce a low-drift, high-density electrode array based on a dry MXene–pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) composite that enables real-time visualization of environment-stimulated electrical waves in Mimosa pudica and other plant species.
