The 2027 Japan-America Frontiers of Engineering symposium will be hosted by the Toray Industries at their Toray Mishima Training Center in Mishima, Japan from June 14 - 17, 2027. Sixty highly accomplished early-career engineers from Japan and the United States will meet for an intensive 2-1/2 day symposium on developments at the cutting edge of engineering technology in four areas: AI for Process Scale-up, Optimization, and Manufacturing; Systems with Challenges for AI Integration; AI for Science and Education; and AI for Knowledge-Guided Discovery and Decision-Making. The event is intended to facilitate international and cross-disciplinary research collaboration, promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across disparate engineering fields, and encourage the creation of a transpacific network of world-class engineers. JAFOE is organized by the National Academy of Engineering and the Engineering Academy of Japan, and is hosted by Toray Industries in 2027.
